Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)-BB is homodimer of PDGF-B was purified from platelet-derived component activated proliferative response of vascular smooth muscle. PDGF-BB is able to activate proliferation of mesenchymal stem cells, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells. PDGF-BB repairs defects of bone and alveolar bone. On the other hand, it was reported that PDGF-B gene was resemble oncogene v-sis.
