Human Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor is also called FGF2 and basic FGF, isolated from a number of sources, including neural tissue, pituitary, adrenal cortex and placenta. FGF2 induces neuron differentiation, survival, and regeneration. FGF2 also modulates embryonic development and differentiation. FGF2 plays a role in the modulation of such normal processes as angiogenesis, neural degeneration. FGF2 induces proliferation of many cells with ES/iPS cells at the start.
