L-Lactate Dehydrogenase, recombinant from Chicken Heart (rLDH-CH)

The main function of LDH is to convert lactate to pyruvate and transform NADH to NAD.  High level of LDH indicates some form of tissue damage. Since it is released during the tissue damage, it is considered as a marker of injuries and heart failure disease or multiple organ failure. Abnormally low levels of LDH are very rare and usually not considered harmful.

LDH is broadly used in Vitro Diagnostic assay test to find out if the body tissue has been damaged. It is also used to test anemia, liver disease, lung disease and some type of infections.
